US: Trump eyes time limits on US student visas

The Trump administration has proposed limiting the amount of time international students can spend in the US, ending the flexible ‘duration of status’ rule currently in place. Submitted by the Department of Homeland Security on June 27, the rule proposes “establishing a fixed time period” for students, exchange visitors and foreign media representatives in the US, a policy that Trump attempted to enact during his first presidential term.
Malta: Rising revenue and costs for FELTOM schools in Malta

US: US federal data glitch overlooks 200,000 international students

Recently corrected SEVIS data has shown the US government underreported international student numbers by 200,000 last year, with the true figures revealing steady growth. The inaccurate SEVIS data painted a picture of dramatically declining international student numbers, which then flatlined in an unusual fashion – with data appearing to show an 11% enrolment decline between March 2024 and March 2025.
